Networking Mummies Franchise
Looking for flexible working? Want to be part of a friendly team?
Laura Morris and Joanne Dewberry started Networking Mummies (Dorset) on the 9th February 2009. The idea was formed one wet morning at a local toddler group between the two mums who already owned their own businesses. Laura Morris ofwww.rentabuggy.co.uk and Joanne Dewberry of www.charliemoos.co.uk. They both felt that there was no support for local mums in business, who were not only trying to start or run their own business but also juggle family life. So on the 9th February 2009 they met with a small group of other entrepreneurial mummies and soon realised from the feedback they received it could be more. Over the next few months they built a website, held more events and went onto providing a great support network of like minded women.
2009 was a great year with a Hampshire branch being added in November, run by Jo Gleeson and 2010 went onto be even better! Networking Mummies (Dorset) at this point had reached over 350 members. Their monthly events consisted of affordable workshops, free events with the kids and more and also importantly raising funds for various charities locally and Nationally. Also in 2010 saw their first 'Dorset Business Mums Journal' being launched and also Networking Mummies (Dorset) being a Finalist in the World Skills Entrepreneurship Competition. Not only were things going well but Laura Morris was announced Winner of the 'Start Up Category' for Women on Their Way Awards too!
In May 2010, Laura decided to relocate back to Warwickshire to be nearer family. A hard decision but an exciting one as it meant they were expanding! Networking Mummies (Warwickshire) had a great year, with over 150 mums on board running a range of businesses and with their own edition of the 'Midlands Business Mums Journal'. In 2011 they saw the launch of their own Bigger Picture Networking Mummies Magazine, with 10,000 copies being distributed throughout all the branches, their second birthday and the launch of their franchise plan. In the later part of 2011, there was a big change as Joanne stepped down as Co-Owner and Laura welcomed Stacey Calder, a long term friend and business associate as her new partner. Now in their 7th year 2016, Networking Mummies UK Ltd has over 30 branches under their belts and have ran their annual Recognition Business Awards for 3 years now. These recognised the hard working parents up and down the Country. Laura and Stacey continue to have strong aspirations and dreams for the business. Networking Mummies UK Ltd is about supporting each other and recommendations. They recognise the power of word of mouth endorsement, its prevalence amongst the parenting community and the importance of tapping into it to increase sales. By joining forces and sharing skills, knowledge and contacts, they hope to drive business success for all members. Membership nationwide now stands at over 17,000 members.

"I became Networking Mummies branch leader for Bristol and South Gloucestershire in June. I run my own small business (www.mycardhut.co.uk) I've really enjoyed meeting so many other women in business! Most of them are juggling many different things between family needs and the pressure of running a successful business. The group provides a supportive network for each other. I never anticipated just how much our branch was needed in the community and how much I would enjoy running it.Laura and Stacey are at the core of this network. They're highly talented and provide amazing technical back up through the website, access to talented art designers, branch leader days, referrals to great business contacts and last, but not least, a friendly, supportive ear at the end of the phone and an almost 24 hour 'virtual' presence - do these ladies ever sleep?! What they have accomplished this year is astonishing - Networking Mummies is quite simply taking the country by storm! So glad to be part of it :)" Jacqui Burke - Bristol and South Gloucestershire
