Ces Loftus is a mum of 3 from Poole. Her fourth son died and it ripped her world apart. Overcoming adversity and grief, Ces channelled positive energy into supporting others and has written a novel series based in Dorset and printed locally at Dorset Digital Print.
Ces says : "The Light Direction is a story of love, passion and betrayal with supernatural powers. The really exciting thing about it is it features real small businesses and talented creatives. So readers can stay in the holiday cottages, eat at the restaurants, wear the jewellery, own the gifts, eat the cupcakes and listen to the music that the characters do."
With three boys and Biz Brand Buzz design service to run, Ces also works tirelessly supporting hundreds of small businesses through The Light Direction and her site Supportive Business Mums.
Some of the small businesses and talented creatives featured in the novel include: Graham Fry Photography, Greg Thurtle TP Photography , Rich Meston Reikan Photo, Urban Reef Cafe & Restaurant, The Urban Beach Hotel, Jazz Cafe Sandbanks, Bournemouth Beaches Holiday Lettings, Candlewick Crafts Poole, New Forest Ice Cream, Cake Heaven, Lulubelle's Cakes, Beside The Sea Holidays, Dotty Delightful, Ribbons and Tulle, Poppy Sparkles, Tiny Gems, Wedding and Baby, Charlotte Hupfield Ceramics, Truly For You, Chris Dallman, Jay Loftus Music, Zoe Bestel, Jasmine Knight UK, Dazzy Sir Mic and lots more.
"The team at Urban Reef are amazed and very flattered to have been included in The Light Direction novel series. It’s not every day you get mentioned in a book! This is an innovative creative project and it means a lot to us to be included." Mark Cribb owner Urban Reef Bournemouth.
"What a wonderful and innovative project. We are delighted to be included." Says Christina Vale founder of New Forest Ice Cream.
"I am so thrilled to have my business featured in The Light Direction novels. You have been such a supporter of my business from the start and I think it is amazing how you have described my cottages in the story." Richard Smith owner Beside The Sea Holidays.
"The Light Direction is providing fantastic promotion opportunities with a brand that has massive potential and I am honoured to have my cakes featured in the story!" Says Louisa Harman owner Lulubelle's Cakes Winton.
"What a fantastic idea to be able to buy the jewellery, cakes and gifts featured in the story. I love how you are promoting local businesses and holidays in Dorset. You’re doing so much for our local community." Says Sharon Goodwin founder Jera's Jamboree Book Reviews Bournemouth.

Ces says : "Dorset is where my heart is and I am passionate about supporting local enterprise and promoting reasons to visit Dorset. These awards are so special because unlike many that revolve around profit margins, they take in the bigger picture and acknowledge deserving women who overcome adversity and go out of their way to help others. Please vote for me on the Bournemouth Daily Echo website from 16th of April for 1 week so I can use the extra promotion opportunities to help more small businesses and talented creatives in memory of my son. Thank You."
