Networking Mummies UK

Testimonials

Having spent many years working with staff in large organisations where just about everything they need is at hand and yet they are unhappy, it is a breath of fresh air to meet and work with a group of people who are creating their own successes by doing a job they enjoy and are passionate about. Networking is critical to being successful and there are many networking groups available to join.

What separates Networking Mummies from the other networking groups is how supportive everyone is of each other. The events are diverse, from speed networking to fashion shows for charity, but all enabling people to get together and talk buiness. As a man joining networking mummies (I call myself a networking daddy - there's an idea!!) I have met some great people which has enabled me to do some talks on personal motivation and will be working with some of the businesses when I make my work motivational video called, The Business Choice. The group is informal, welcoming and has great membership and I can't recommend them highly enough.

How has Networking Mummies helped me? From the moment I joined the Hampshire Branch page on Facebook I was instamtly welcomed into one big family. I really didn't expect it and I was amazed at the amount of people saying hello and welcoming me into the business world.

Both Joanne and Laura have offered me support and advice on how to build my business and invite me to many interesting and relevant networking events. Many of which are organized by themselves, especially looking forward to the Masterclasses that are coming up this Summer. I have met some inspiring ladies through the group that have given me some great starter points and encouragement when I have needed it!

I know if I have any questions or concerns over the day to day running of my newly launched business, Networking Mummies would be more than happy to help, their friendly family apporach makes them caring and honest. I would not have been able to gain so much confidence so quickly withouth their support.

I joined Networking Mummies recently and have been really pleased with the friends, contacts and encouragement I've received from the members and especially Laura and Joanne, it's founders. With networking you are often nervous at first, because it takes you out of your comfort zones however never have I felt self-concious nor nervous whilst meeting up with the mums because we all share something in common - we juggle kids AND our businesses succesfully so the ice is already broken before we start. As well as the events they put on great teaching seminars so we can be the best business mummies possible and glean from experts in their field. We've rubbed shoulders with mumpreneurs, Bloggers, PR salespeople, coaching experts and social media experts who show us the 'how to' and not just talk to us. It has helped my confidence enormously to find there are like-minded mummies out there who share my passion for business and I look forward to many more networking events and growing with then as we enjoy the friendships together along the journey of life.

On Monday 26th April I attended my first Networking Mummies event, a training day with Antonia Chitty. It followed hot on the heels of a Personal Trainers Convention on the Saturday and Sunday and my brain was full to bursting of new ideas before I even arrived! The training day took place at Bournemouth University in a very relaxed atmosephere and proved to be one of the most worthwhile days I have spent. Not only did I learn a huge amount from Antonia about promoting my business but I also met a lady, Lara Williams, (whose advice has launched my career in a whole new and exciting direction!) and was able to network with Laura, Joanne and the other attendees. All in all one of the best £15 I've spent in a long time!

I went along to the first Networking Mummies Warwickshire meeting (coffee morning at funky monkeys) with my daughter Mackenzie not really knowing what to expect. At first I wasn’t even sure I would go, but I’m so thankful I did. I arrived there and met Laura Morris (co-founder) and within 10 minutes met three or four other fascinating women. I was worried about attending a group like this as it’s not something I would normally do and as I pointed out to Laura, I wasn’t in business at the time. I had just come to the end of my maternity leave and had decided with two children (one having speech therapy) it would be unfair for me to go back to my role as a retail store manager as I was finding I was out of the house for 13 hours each day and not seeing my children as much as I wanted to.

It was at this meeting I met Sharon who listened to my story and asked me questions about what I’d like to do in the future. She told me she was a business mentor (amongst many other wonderful things) and that she knows a business opportunity that I might be interested in. We arranged to meet a few days later for coffee and a one to one.

I met Sharon a few days later and a few days after that went to a business presentation with her. Just a couple of weeks on and she has helped me to set up my own business working alongside a large international company. I have two business launches this week and currently recruiting a team of open minded people. I work from home around my children but still have the ongoing support and training from Sharon and everybody at Forever Living. I’ve always wanted to do something like this but never thought it was possible meeting Sharon made me realise anything is possible as long as you want it enough and work hard to achieve your goals.

None of this would ever of happened had I not attended that Networking Mummies meeting, and Laura Morris is an inspiration to mothers everywhere- she’s proof you can run a great business and have a happy family life. I will never worry about attending another one again infact I’m looking forward to the next event which I will be attending armed with my business cards! Thank you Networking Mummies!
